"In spiritual definitions, the dragon represents the supernatural, infinity itself, and the spiritual powers of change and transformation. Protection, Element magick. Using the spiritual to transform life." -D.J. Conway/Animal Magick "The ongoing struggle of light versus darkness, and good versus evil, that is always with us. Here (with dragon) you become the hero who preserves your vision of virtue." -Patricia Telesco/The Language of Dreams
"Dragon is a guardian of medicine, but not just of one medicine... of all the medicines in all the Universes" -Janette Damsma ***** She gazed, intrigued, upon his bright blue eyes and grey beard as this stranger spoke to her; “I have been called to find you and talk to you about Dragon Medicine. I have studied these ways in great detail for years of my life and although I cannot possibly convey to you even a fraction of what I know about it, it is my understanding that I am here to convey to you that you undoubtedly are a carrier of this medicine, and to ask you for healing.” She felt the words penetrate her being as she glanced slowly around where they sat; at the medicine tent she had constructed for the Indigenous Gathering. The collection of sacred items which she had accumulated on her healing path were hauntingly breathtaking; all gifted to her by various people or through various Ritual, in gratitude for the healing she had delivered; cow skull, deer skull, cougar skull, horse skull, bear skull, buffalo hide, sage and cedar, eagle feather, owl feather, hawk feather, Chinese medicine balls, scrying mirror, rain stick, cedar dust, just to mention a few… And she felt in her heart of hearts that what he was saying was true. ***** Upon completing the Reiki healing, she looked intently into this First Nations Elder Woman’s deep brown eyes, feeling elated with their connection, remembering the comfort in sitting next to her throughout the previous night for the Native Church of America ceremony around the Sacred Fire. The elder spoke to her, stating; “While you were doing the Reiki I opened my eyes and looked at your arms and they appeared to have smooth scales like a reptile, but the colour blue, like an Avatar." ***** In conclusion to the Ayahuasca ceremony, sitting in a circle describing their experiences, one night after the death of her Grandfather, they contemplated the surprise visitor; an owl who called out the entire night over the Maloka. As the circle closed a girl approached her, in her early 20’s; tight jeans, loose sweatshirt and unkempt blond hair tied back in a loose ponytail. The girl knelt down in front of her, explaining that she had something she wanted to share; “At one point in the ceremony I looked over at you, while you were meditating; you looked so peaceful and next thing I saw, wings were coming up from your back, and you completely transformed; into a dragon. You were blue with designs and symbols all over your skin, on your face and arms; like intricate glowing tattoos.” ***** In a far away world, and worlds upon worlds, exists the Shamanic Dream and the medicine that lies therein. What may seem as fantasy to some, can undeniably be the reality of others when it becomes evident; the healing of lives.
